Mill Valley House and Landscape

Mill Valley, California

Located in a rugged oak landscape, the 1100 square foot home was renovated using affordable and recycled materials to transform inward facing rooms to light-filled open spaces that engage a courtyard garden and allow views of the Marin hills. Using plywood ceilings, recycled kitchen counters and appliances from a demolished kitchen project, fiber cement siding for the garden walls, seconds tiles, and refinishing the existing floors, the integrity of the design was preserved while adhering to a tight budget.
