Energy Fields, Utilities Services Center
Fort Collins, Colorado
Winner for the Art in Public Places Program, Energy Fields translates abstract concepts of public utilities into an experiential landscape that incorporates sound and movement. Predicated on the wave pattern, inherent in the structure of water and electricity, the design adapts this fundamental aspect into an aesthetic that offers visitors the opportunity to interact with the site. The site contains 200 13’ tall fiberglass and steel rods that respond to wind and touch.
